A wonderful antique Moonstone star pendant from the Victorian era, Circa 1880.
The piece is decorated with thirteen cabochon cut Moonstones, approx. 0.50ct to 0.65ct each and laid out in a pretty star shaped design.
Moonstone has a lovely ghostly hue and was once seen as an amulet of protection to travellers, a gift of lovers for passion, a channel for prophecy, and a path to wisdom.
The piece also features a golden star in the centre encrusted with Pearls with a Moonstone crowned on top.
The gallery is all 18ct Yellow Gold and fitted with a secure pin on the reverse so the piece can also be worn as a brooch.
A lovely mystifying antique and a great talking piece.
